Would you risk the destruction of the earth for a bit of knowledge that has little matter to most of us? - Questions

Would you danger it. Would you activate this machine, and danger the destruction of the earth, just to know something that has little significance to most of us? Tell me what you feel. It just peeves me off how they do this, they would rather know a thing than have the earth. Tell me what you feel and if you would activate it.

Other content articles say that this could lead to a break through in technologies and many others... But what would you fairly, figuring out we are safe and sound, or chance the earth for much better technologies which will pollute the earth.
